Welcome to the TrigNet Web Application

HERE YOU CAN:
Download high-precision GNSS files in RINEX (Receiver Independent) format free of charge.
Generate user-defined RINEX data files using the Reference Data Shop utility.
View the TrigNet Sensor Map – a live map indicating all TrigNet stations and their current status.
Access the TrigNet real-time correction service to enhance positioning precision.
This service eliminates the need for users to set up their own base stations, offering centimetre-level accuracy.

REGISTRATION:
Users must register on the TrigNet website to access the real-time service free of charge.
Registration information is used only for statistical monitoring of downloaded data.

INTRODUCTION TO TRIGNET:
TrigNet is South Africa’s CORS network – a national network of continuously operating Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) base stations.
It is managed from a control centre at the Chief Directorate: National Geospatial Information (CD:NGI), located in Cape Town, South Africa.
TrigNet provides free, high-precision GNSS data for agriculture, surveying, mapping, engineering, and scientific applications through both post-processing and real-time services.
With more than 6,000 registered users, it plays a critical role in delivering reliable GNSS services across South Africa.

TRIGNET REAL-TIME SERVICE:
What is required to connect to the TrigNet real-time service?
IP Address: 196.15.132.2
Port: 2101
User Authentication: Username and password

Select a mount point to receive RTK corrections from either a single base station or a Virtual Reference Station (VRS).
Single-base RTK connections are available from all TrigNet stations (GPS and GLONASS observations).
Multi-constellation stations (e.g. Cape Town and Pretoria) track GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou signals.
Example: SBOK-SB (single base) or RTKNetKZN (VRS network).
For drone applications, refer to the "Mount Point List" available on the FTP site.
Most field receivers load a source table (list of mount points) for user selection.

RTK solutions are available within the following Virtual Reference Station (VRS) networks:
1) Western Cape (RTKNetWCape): Cape Point, Cape Town, Hermanus, Langebaan, Gordons Bay, Malmesbury, Stellenbosch.
2) Gauteng (RTKNetGauteng): Benoni, Brits, Bronkhorstspruit, Ermelo, Heidelberg, Krugersdorp, Middelburg, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Secunda, Soshanguve, Vereeniging.
3) KwaZulu-Natal (RTKNetKZN): Durban, Greyton, Ixopo, Kokstad, Ladysmith, Mooi River, Pietermaritzburg, Port Shepstone, Scottburgh, Stanger, Westville.

TRIGNET POST-PROCESSING DATA SERVICE:
TrigNet data files conform to international standards and are provided in RINEX 3 format.
All post-processing products reference UTC (South African Standard Time (SAST) = UTC +2 hours).
The "Reference Data Shop" utility allows users to generate custom data files by selecting multiple stations, defining an epoch rate, and choosing an output format (RINEX 2 or RINEX 3).
Data files for the current day can be generated shortly after each hour.

FTP ACCESS:
ftp://ftp.trignet.co.za
Note: If the FTP link does not open in your browser, enable FTP support or use an FTP client such as FileZilla.
The TrigNet FTP site contains an extensive archive of GNSS data files, as well as a "Station Information" folder.
This folder includes coordinate lists (Hartebeesthoek94 and ITRF), mount point lists, network maps, and detailed download instructions.
Daily and hourly RINEX files are typically available from 08:00 on the following day.
Data is organised by Julian day and includes 1-second daily, 30-second daily, and 1-second hourly files.
